Ocean Universal in Westcourt, Cairns carries a big spearfishing range. Not surprising — the store started as Spearfishing find more Superstore, so spearo gear has always been the core.
They carry rail spearguns, spearfishing wetsuits, long-blade fins, low-volume masks, weight belts, floats, dive knives, and general spearo accessories. It's all picked for tropical spearfishing — not imported cold-water gear that wasn't made for FNQ.
The name changed to Ocean Universal because the shop had already branched into scuba and freediving gear over the years. But the spearfishing range wasn't scaled down. Spearfishing is still central to what of the business.
Staff are spearos themselves and can help with what works on the local reefs.
